ABOUT
Hello and Welcome
My name is Bob Androff and I am the owner of Headache and Face Pain Specialists. I have been treating people with headaches and neck pain since 1987.
I graduated from Northern Arizona University Physical Therapy Program in 1987 with a BS degree in Physical Therapy. In 2010, I graduated from Texas Tech with a Doctor of Science (ScD) in Physical Therapy.
In 2023 and 2025, I attended The Watson Headache Level One and Level Two courses — an evidence-based approach that focuses specifically on treating the neck as the source of headache and facial pain. This rigorous training shapes every treatment I provide.

TREATMENT MODEL
A Different Approach to Headache Care
The treatment model I use is different from the one utilized by medical doctors. My approach is grounded in studies showing that the neck is capable of referring pain to the head and face — including pain that presents as migraines and other complex conditions.
🦴
Cervical-Focused Treatment
Treatment is centered at the neck and base of the skull, with additional attention to the thoracic spine and ribs — targeting the true anatomical source of your pain.
🔗
Reproducing the Pain
During treatment, I can often reproduce your headache or facial pain, demonstrating a direct, verifiable link between the neck and the head or face.
📋
Evidence-Based Practice
Every technique is anchored in peer-reviewed research on cervicogenic headache and the trigeminocervical convergence, not symptom management, but root-cause resolution.
THE SCIENCE
How the Neck Causes Head & Face Pain
At the highest point of the neck are spinal segments C0, C1, C2, and C3. In this same region exists a critical relay station between the cervical spinal nerves and the Trigeminal Nerve — called the TrigeminoCervical Complex (TCC).
The Trigeminal Nerve supplies sensation to virtually every structure in your face — the forehead, scalp, eyelids, nose, sinuses, lips, teeth, gums, palate, chin, TMJ, and the front two-thirds of the tongue.
Because of this convergence, irritation at the upper cervical segments can generate referred pain throughout the head and face, and may also produce symptoms including dizziness, visual disturbances, nausea, a sense of imbalance, and heart rate fluctuations.

C0 – C3 Cervical Segments
The uppermost spinal segments, just beneath the skull — the origin of cervicogenic referred pain.
TrigeminoCervical Complex (TCC)
The neurological relay station where upper cervical nerves converge with the trigeminal system.
Trigeminal Nerve (CN V)
Three branches supplying sensation to the entire face, scalp, sinuses, TMJ, and oral structures.
Cervicogenic Referred Pain
Irritation at the neck causes pain perceived anywhere in the head or face — including classic migraine patterns.
Autonomic Symptoms
The same convergence can drive dizziness, vision changes, nausea, and heart rate irregularities.
